From Airports to Air Traffic Control | GBase Database Powers Civil Aviation Scenarios, Driving Industry-Wide Digital Transformation

Published on 2026-09-20

From September 16–18, 2026, the 2nd "AI + Civil Aviation" Innovation Technology Application Exchange Conference was held in Chengdu. GBASE (General Data Technology Co., Ltd.) attended with its GBase series database products, showcasing its autonomous, controllable data foundation capabilities to support the digital transformation of China's civil aviation industry.

Under the theme "AI Empowers New Momentum for Civil Aviation · Data Creates a New Aviation Future," the conference was hosted by the Civil Aviation Information Technology Application Branch of the China Computer Users Association and the Key Laboratory of Smart Airport Theory and Systems. It focused on civil aviation AI policies and standards, smart airport intelligence upgrades, and data governance and compliance risks. The event brought together airport groups, airlines, research institutes, and supply chain companies to explore innovative pathways for AI deployment in civil aviation.

Database: The "Root Technology" of Smart Civil Aviation

As civil aviation digitization accelerates, data has become a critical production factor for the industry. However, airports, airlines, and air traffic control operators each run independent systems, and data silos have long been a persistent challenge. Breaking down these barriers, integrating data, and driving business innovation have become critical priorities for the industry's digital transformation.

To address this challenge, GBASE delivers a full-stack, independently controlled database portfolio:

  • GBase 8a powers large-scale intelligent data analytics.

  • GBase 8s ensures strong consistency and high availability for mission-critical business systems.

  • GBase 8c supports multi-model, multi-form distributed transaction scenarios.

Together, these three products complement each other and cover a wide range of civil aviation business scenarios — providing end-to-end data foundation support for civil aviation digital infrastructure, data governance, and intelligent decision-making.

From the Ground to the Clouds: GBASE's Civil Aviation Deployments

In aviation operations, GBase database has established partnerships with an air traffic control unit directly under the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and regional air traffic control branches. In mission-critical scenarios such as air traffic control message relay systems, GBase 8s leverages high-concurrency processing capabilities and a robust high-availability mechanism to ensure stable operation of dozens of concurrent business processes at tens of gigabytes of data scale. It is also deeply adapted with domestic middleware and other software and hardware components, achieving a fully autonomous, domestically sourced technology stack.

In data analytics scenarios, the CAAC's Comprehensive Statistical Information System adopted GBase 8a MPP Cluster V9. Through virtual cluster capabilities, it enables multi-tenant management and supports refined extraction, mining, and analysis of massive datasets spanning airports, transport production, and general aviation operations — delivering efficient data support for civil aviation decision-making.

From ground airports to air traffic management, from security screening systems to air traffic control message relay, GBase database delivers stable technical reliability and ecosystem adaptability, continuously injecting dependable momentum into the digitalization of China's civil aviation system. Looking ahead, GBASE will continue to invest deeply in the civil aviation industry, leveraging its autonomous, controllable data foundation to help China's civil aviation navigate the digital wave with stability and confidence.
