Huaxia Bank - Account Front-End System Upgrade Project
Project Overview
Project Background
The MPP-based database GBase 8a has successfully supported the account front-end system appliance of China Financial Electronization Group Co., Ltd., enabling massive data management, complex business analysis, and linear scalability. As Huaxia Bank's business continues to grow rapidly, in order to better meet the current and future demands of the account front-end system, the bank has decided to adopt a mature technology solution to upgrade the "MPP-based database software." This upgrade aims to enhance the data storage scale and computing power of the bank's account front-end system, achieving comprehensive optimization of both the front-end system and data analytics architecture.
Requirements Analysis
As the foundational software for Huaxia Bank's account front-end system, the distributed parallel processing database serves as the centralized aggregation and storage platform for all structured data of the company. This project involves upgrading the new version of Huaxia Bank's account front-end system to ensure the stable launch and operation of the new account front-end appliance. The configuration must meet the following requirements:
1. Product architecture, data types, data sharding, scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, security, and other features must satisfy the needs of the account front-end appliance (IT Application Innovation Edition).
2. Provide graphical tools for centralized unified management of all database functions, as well as monitoring and automated tuning of system operational status, resource usage, and task execution.
3. Support mainstream chip architectures, including but not limited to Intel, AMD, ARM series, as well as Zhaoxin and Hygon x86 architectures (MIPS instruction set) and Sunway (Alpha instruction set).
4. Provide permanent general license or installation media with no license restrictions.
Quality metrics must meet the following:
1. Loading performance: Capable of loading data while querying simultaneously, with policy-based data loading modes. Utilizing replica chain forwarding, P2P multi-point transfer, and multiple parallel loaders, data loading performance scales linearly with node count. Overall cluster loading performance exceeds 30TB per hour.
2. Query performance: Single-user paging queries, deduplication queries, and multi-table join queries all have an average system response time of less than 1 second; single-user queries on tables with hundreds of billions of rows and multi-table joins on ten-billion-row tables both achieve an average response time of less than 5 seconds; single-user ad-hoc queries have an average response time under 10 seconds. CNAS-certified third-party test reports must be provided as proof.
3. Insert/update/delete performance: Single-user operations on large data volumes of 6 billion rows of inserts, updates, and deletes achieve rates of 10 million rows/sec, 50 million rows/sec, and 100 million rows/sec, respectively. CNAS-certified third-party test reports must be provided as proof.
4. Intellectual property: Must possess independent intellectual property rights; software product registration certificates and copyright registration certificates issued in China are required.
5. Authoritative certifications: (1) Must have been listed in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Analytics and Data Management Solutions at least once within the past three years.
(2) Must have passed the official TPC-DS benchmark test, with QphDS exceeding 8 million and loading performance exceeding 30TB/hour;
6. Case studies: At least 2 MPP database deployment cases with 40 or more nodes within the last 3 years; and at least 5 MPP database application cases in the banking, insurance, and securities industries within the last 3 years.
Leveraging MPP database technology and continuous integration with big data and cloud computing, it enables data resource sharing and enhances data asset operation and management capabilities. The goal is to build a data service platform based on the MPP database, providing better data services for the bank's account front-end system and business development.
Solutions
The solution uses the GBase 8a analytical database as the foundational software for Huaxia Bank’s account front-end system. The distributed parallel processing database consolidates and centrally stores the institution’s structured data. The project upgraded the bank’s account front-end system, ensuring a stable rollout and operation of the new-version Huaxia Bank account front-end appliance. General Data Technology (GBase) provided three-year manufacturer warranty and support services, safeguarding the long-term stable operation of the database software on the appliance.

Application Results
GBase 8a serves as the underlying database supporting the account front-end all-in-one system independently developed by China Financial Electronics Group Co., Ltd. It handles critical business functions such as customer account management, fund clearing, bill processing, customer information management, and risk control. The system processes and manages customer, transaction, and settlement information, providing essential support for downstream operations. Deployed at Huaxia Bank, it delivers an efficient and convenient processing platform that reduces operational costs, accelerates processing speed, and improves customer satisfaction.
Performance Boost: The new account front-end system significantly expands data storage capacity and computing power, achieving a comprehensive optimization and upgrade of the bank’s account front-end and data analytics system architecture.
Cost-Effective, Domestic & Secure: Built entirely with domestic, controllable components, it ensures full autonomy, control, and information security. It also forms a complete solution with proprietary intellectual property, encompassing the account front-end all-in-one design, application integration, and deployment methodology.
Manufacturer Services: Comprehensive, direct-from-manufacturer support. GBase provides accurate, ample technical services and essential training to meet all requirements for installation, commissioning, performance testing, operation, and maintenance.
