GBASE Supports Bank of Qingdao's Unified Regulatory Reporting ("One Form") Project
Project Overview
Bank of Qingdao is the first A-share listed city commercial bank in Shandong Province and a regional joint-stock commercial bank. Its business covers corporate finance, retail finance, financial markets, and other full business lines. To implement the regulatory "One Form" reporting construction specifications and satisfy One Form 2.0 requirements, the bank needed to achieve T+1 high-frequency detailed reporting. The data collection scope covers ten major business themes and 90 data tables in total, with a massive field scale and numerous intra-table and inter-table reconciliation validation rules. The original decentralized regulatory processing architecture could no longer meet the new regulatory reporting requirements. The bank launched its "One Form" regulatory reporting business platform and selected GBASE's GBase 8a distributed database as the unified regulatory data foundation to complete full One Form data processing, quality validation, issue investigation, and regulatory message output.
The application developer for this project was Nanjing Fitech Data System Corp. GBASE and Nanjing Fitech performed deep product adaptation, jointly obtained mutual certification, and have successfully implemented multiple financial One Form projects, ensuring rapid customer go-live and efficient, accurate reporting.
Solution
Bank of Qingdao built its "One Form" regulatory reporting business system on GBase 8a MPP Cluster, deploying three cluster nodes in a full-stack domestic solution: domestic servers, Kunpeng CPUs, and Kylin V10 operating systems. Cluster nodes interconnect via 10-gigabit Ethernet switches for inter-node data exchange; coordination nodes and data nodes interconnect via 10-gigabit Ethernet for data loading. The cluster provides client access services externally over gigabit Ethernet.
Each business source system uses ETL tools for data extraction and cleansing, aggregating full business details—customers, accounts, contracts, transactions, credit, and more—into the GBase 8a MPP cluster. The cluster completes One Form subject model processing, metric aggregation, and full reconciliation validation, then supports upper-layer One Form applications for data queries, exception investigation, and regulatory message generation and output.
Data source layer: Core system, credit system, treasury system, retail system, CRM system, other business systems
ETL data extraction: Source data extraction, cleansing, and transformation, loaded into GBase 8a MPP Cluster
GBase 8a MPP Cluster: Common processing layer, regulatory subject integration layer, validation computation layer
Upper-layer applications: Trusted Zone One Form reporting platform, including task scheduling, data supplementation, reconciliation verification, message generation, and reporting management modules
Results
Eliminated regulatory data silos: Achieved unified aggregation and processing of bank-wide regulatory source data, resolving duplicate data extraction and inconsistent definitions across multiple regulatory systems, and significantly reducing manual cross-report reconciliation workload.
Efficient query and batch processing performance: The full regulatory batch processing cycle was reduced to one-third of its original duration, meeting One Form T+1 reporting timeliness requirements.
Rapid adaptation to regulatory iterations: Under a unified data foundation, regulatory field and validation rule updates require model modifications on only one platform, eliminating the need to modify multiple scattered systems. Development cycles for regulatory changes shortened significantly, effectively reducing operational costs.
High availability ensuring business continuity: GBase 8a multi-replica high-availability technology eliminates single points of failure, ensuring 7×24 uninterrupted regulatory reporting operations and meeting the bank's stringent stability requirements.
Easy scalability: Supports horizontal scaling on ARM servers. As business data grows, adding nodes increases storage and compute capacity, overcoming the vertical-only upgrade limitations of traditional databases.
Secure and controllable domestic technology: The regulatory core business foundation uses GBASE's GBase 8a domestic distributed database, achieving autonomous and controllable infrastructure and safeguarding sensitive regulatory data. Automated full reconciliation validation identifies data anomalies in advance, with drill-down traceability to details, effectively reducing regulatory reporting error rates.
