GBASE Powers Tianjin Central Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Project Overview
Driven by the wave of healthcare informatization, hospital management, medical services, and clinical workflows are undergoing unprecedented transformation. Tianjin Central Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology has kept pace with these developments, aligning with its own growth objectives and broader industry trends. Committed to improving patient experience and responding to China's innovation-driven development strategy, the hospital has advanced its informatization initiative, planning and building multiple systems including HIS (Hospital Information System), EMR (Electronic Medical Record), and BBP (Basic Portal Platform).
Implementation
The project adopted GBASE's GBase database, responsible for storing business data (supporting row-store, column-store, and in-memory table storage), executing data queries, and returning results to client drivers. GBase's high-availability module monitors node status and performs state switching during failures. By specifying different syntax compatibility modes at database creation, the solution maximizes compatibility with heterogeneous database syntax dialects. Automated migration and synchronization tools further support the heterogeneous migration process, minimizing migration and adaptation costs and risks.
The project officially went live in November 2024, with initial business systems including HIS, BBP, RIS, BSLIS, PA, and EMRCS, followed by the progressive onboarding of additional systems such as ECIS, NIENR, AIMS, ICM, and DSCS.
Results
High performance: Meets the business requirements of the hospital's Binhai campus, which handles an average daily outpatient volume of 2,000 patient visits.
High reliability: Provides dual-machine high availability, meeting the customer's 7×24 stability requirement.
High compatibility: Offers multiple compatibility modes, minimizing migration and adaptation effort — data objects and data migration completed within 2 days.
IT application innovation ecosystem: Seamlessly adapts with upstream and downstream components, delivering a full-stack, vertically integrated path for building the hospital's core systems and meeting the healthcare industry's IT application innovation requirements.
