Big Data Platform of Bank of China Beijing Branch – Precision Marketing through Big Data Analytics
Value Proposition
Data Integration: With powerful massive storage and massively parallel computing capabilities, GBase 8a MPP Cluster manages massive data storage and provides a consistent, reliable data view through efficient data integration and processing.
Ad-hoc Querying: GBase 8a MPP Cluster delivers high-performance ad-hoc querying on massive datasets, enabling fast, per-transaction analysis of detailed records.
Standardization: It supports the SQL92 standard and complies with international interfaces including ODBC, JDBC, and ADO.NET, along with a native C API.
Linear Scalability: GBase 8a MPP Cluster offers high online scalability, ensuring the data platform can easily integrate additional business systems and support higher-level complex analysis and strategic decision-making.
Solutions
Build a 4-node cluster with 8TB total data capacity. Currently, data grows by approximately 300GB per month, and retention is tentatively set to 2 years.
Data is batch-imported periodically (mostly at night) and processed through stored procedures. The computation results are stored in a result table. End users—primarily marketing managers—query the result table directly, with modest concurrency.
Requirements Analysis
Powerful: A unified platform for data migration, processing, querying, and application connectivity.
High Performance: Fast response for data loading, import/export, processing, and queries.
High Availability: 24/7 continuous operation with no single point of failure or downtime from maintenance.
Interfaces and Tools: SQL92 compliant, with standard ODBC, JDBC, ADO.NET and native C API.
