Hello, IoT! GBASE is here!

Published on 2017-02-16

Recently, the 4th International Automotive Industry 4.0 Summit was held in Shanghai. Industry experts and leaders from Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen, Volvo, Geely, Siemens, and others gathered together. GBASE showcased its IoT solution – GBase 8e – at the summit and engaged in discussions with industry experts on deployment strategies and use cases for GBase 8e in the Industry 4.0 era.

In the Industry 4.0 era, sensors within IoT devices generate massive volumes of time-series data. To capture and analyze this data, high database read and write performance is critical. The database must support high-speed reads and writes with high availability to ensure normal device operations and data integrity.

GBase 8e, an embedded database, supports ARM-based and x86 chips, as well as multiple domestic embedded operating systems. It features minimal resource consumption (requiring only 64 MB of memory and 128 MB of storage space), high stability, and self-managing, maintenance-free capabilities. It also delivers enterprise-class, general-purpose relational database functions, providing strongly consistent transaction capabilities, support for JDBC and ODBC interfaces, and standard SQL. In terms of processing power, it offers up to 256 GB of data storage, can handle tables with hundreds of millions of rows, achieves query performance in microseconds, and processes 3,000 transactions per minute.
