A World-Class Partner — Bringing World-Class Homegrown Databases to China.
May 13, 2016, the “Bringing World-Class Homegrown Databases to China” product launch, hosted by GBASE, was held at the Beijing International Convention Center. The event brought together over 700 attendees, including government officials, GBASE users from dozens of industries such as government, banking, telecommunications, finance, and security, as well as numerous partners and media representatives.
How is “world-class” defined? GBASE elaborated on it from three perspectives: world-class products, world-class customers, and world-class partners.
For world-class partners, GBASE invited Zhu Hui, General Manager of Big Data Platform, IBM China Development Center; Zhou Lida, Vice President of Digital China; Gu Sanjun, Vice President of VST ECS China; and Huang Chun, General Manager of the GBase Business Unit at Founder International, to share their insights.

Technology Partner on China’s Path to Homegrown Innovation.Zhu Hui, General Manager of Big Data Platform at IBM China Development Center, stated that as China’s economy rapidly develops, some core technologies have reached a point where they must be considered at the national strategic level. IBM, having deep roots in China’s IT industry for many years, should join this journey toward indigenous innovation. IBM aims to become a technology partner for China’s foundational software in achieving self-reliance, and help fuel the rise of Chinese databases.
Digital China
(Zhou Lida, Vice President of Digital China)
Share, Co-create, and Succeed Together. Zhou Lida, Vice President of Digital China, noted that with the advancement of China’s national strategy for security and self-reliance, GBASE seized the opportunity, increased investment, and developed a complete portfolio of products, services, and solutions that comply with national standards and rival world-class offerings, delivering secure, stable, and high-quality services to users. In the future, Digital China will collaborate with GBASE to provide excellent services to customers and partners — sharing, co-creating, and succeeding together.
VST ECS
(Gu Sanjun, Vice President of VST ECS China)
Valuing GBASE’s Brand Influence. Gu Sanjun, Vice President of VST ECS China, said that as China sets higher requirements for the autonomy and controllability of IT systems, GBASE and VST ECS officially signed a partnership in 2015. GBASE was the first homegrown database product in VST ECS’s portfolio, and they place great importance on GBASE’s products and brand influence as the top Chinese database brand.
Founder International
(Huang Chun, General Manager of GBase Business Unit, Founder International)
Bringing World-Class Homegrown Databases to China. Huang Chun, General Manager of the GBase Business Unit at Founder International, said that in 2007, GBASE started developing an analytical database product, becoming the first company in China to do so. Today, GBase 8a has become the market leader. With GBase 8a, foreign competitors can no longer demand unreasonable pricing — a direct benefit to Chinese users. We hope the cooperation between Founder International and GBASE will expand further, and together we will bring world-class homegrown databases to China.
“Independence, controllability, security and reliability” is a critical national strategy that permeates all aspects of information security and the development of the IT industry. Going forward, GBASE will join hands with partners to promote its products and solutions across more industries and sectors, and together contribute to building China’s secure and self-reliant information infrastructure.
