GBase 8a MPP Cluster Passes Big Data Product Capability Evaluation

On March 20, the Data Center Alliance completed the testing of GBase's large-scale distributed parallel database system cluster GBase 8a MPP Cluster. The product's six indicators, including functionality, operation and maintenance, security, scalability, availability, and compatibility, fully meet the requirements of the Big Data Product Capability Evaluation (Basic Capability).

On March 28, the "2017 Big Data Industry Summit" was held at the Beijing International Convention Center. Guided by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and hosted by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology and the China Communications Standards Association, the summit aimed to support the implementation of the national big data strategy, promote exchanges and cooperation within the big data industry, and showcase the latest development achievements of China's big data industry.

During the summit, Jiang Chunyu, leader of the Technology and Product Working Group of the Big Data Development Promotion Committee under the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, reported on the big data product evaluation status: Since October 2016, five MPP vendors have participated in the MPP database capability evaluation. The MPP database basic capability certification covers six major categories: functionality, operation and maintenance, security, scalability, availability, and compatibility, totaling 48 tests. After testing, GBase 8a MPP Cluster met all six indicator requirements of the Big Data Product Capability Evaluation (Basic Capability).

GBase 8a MPP Cluster is a mature analytical database for the big data era. It adopts a federated architecture, supports cluster scales of more than 300 nodes, and manages data volumes greater than 30PB. It is suitable for both PB-level big data and TB-level small data scenarios, and can be applied in industries such as telecommunications, finance, government and enterprise, security, and the Internet for massive data query, statistical analysis, data warehouse support, ad hoc queries, and other scenarios. Currently, it already hosts the largest data warehouses across four major sectors in China: banking, telecommunications, government affairs, and the military.

Yang Zemin, Secretary-General of the China Communications Standards Association, presented the Big Data Product Capability Evaluation Certificate. GBase's large-scale distributed parallel database cluster system GBase 8a MPP Cluster received the certificate.
