GBASE Officially Joins the openGauss Community Council to Co-Govern the Largest Open Source Root Community

As a key partner of the openGauss community, GBASE has officially joined the Council as a member organization.

To date, the openGauss Community Council is composed of over ten partners, users, and academic institutions from the community, including Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., SuperMap Software, GBASE, China Merchants Bank, China Mobile, and Tsinghua University.

The openGauss Community Council is the decision-making and governing body of the community. Its main responsibilities include planning the community's development direction, reviewing the work of the Technical Committee, organizing the construction and operation of community open source infrastructure, promoting the openGauss open source community, developing the community ecosystem, and enhancing community vitality. The Council strictly fulfills its duties, formulates community development strategies, fosters communication and in-depth collaboration among community members, and jointly drives the community's ecosystem and growth, with the goal of making openGauss the best enterprise-grade open source database. The continuous upgrading and improvement of open source community governance underpins the prosperous development of the openGauss ecosystem.

GBASE Expands in Distributed Databases, Co-Governing a Thriving Open Source Community with openGauss

On July 15 this year, GBase 8c — the industry's first distributed database product based on openGauss 3.0 — was officially launched at openGauss Developer Day 2022. It is currently the only distributed database product to have received community distribution certification.

Leveraging over a decade of deep database expertise and technology, GBASE addresses distributed technology challenges and explores innovative applications of openGauss in the distributed domain. Built on the Kunpeng + openGauss foundation and incorporating advanced Chinese open source database technologies, GBase 8c accelerates comprehensive and stable adaptation to the Chinese IT innovation ecosystem, providing users with stable and reliable data management services.

Since its inception, GBASE has been committed to the independent R&D and promotion of Chinese databases, delivering full-stack Chinese database products and services to users. To date, the GBase series of databases has provided products and services to over ten thousand users in sectors such as finance, telecommunications, government, energy, transportation, national defense, and enterprises and public institutions. In the future, GBASE will uphold the openGauss principles of co-building, sharing, and co-governance to drive community incubation, governance, and infrastructure upgrades and improvements.
