Learning Through Challenges, Moving Forward Together – Reflections on GBase Training

My name is Zhang Wen, from Changsha, Hunan. I currently work as a database development engineer at Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., with five years of experience in database-related work. My areas of expertise include Oracle, Hive, DB2, Hadoop clusters, and GaussDB. I have only recently started working with domestic databases and have gained quite a few insights.
First, regarding the GBase database, I had come across it in some articles earlier and learned that GBase is an independently branded database product launched by General Data Technology Co., Ltd. In an era dominated by foreign databases, the emergence of domestic databases is particularly valuable. However, the localization of databases is also a trend, and I believe many more excellent domestic databases will emerge in the future. I gained a lot from this training; the instructor explained things in great detail, making it easy for me as a student to understand and practice. I also learned that the GBase series has a rich product lineup, including the new analytical database GBase 8a, the distributed parallel database cluster GBase 8a Cluster, the high-end transactional database GBase 8t, the high-speed in-memory database GBase 8m/AltiBase, the visual business intelligence tool GBaseBI, the large-scale directory service system GBase 8d, and the hardware-encrypted security database GBase 8s. With these products, GBase truly stands out.
GBase has many advantages. For instance, GBase 8s security database uses encryption cards approved by the State Cryptography Administration, supporting key generation, key destruction, and cryptographic operations. In this data-driven age, this effectively safeguards user information security. As the first domestically developed NewSQL database product, GBase 8a impressed me with its maturity, stability, high-speed massive data processing, cost-effectiveness, and domestic controllability.
I hope that in future training sessions, the instructor can guide the participants more deeply in practicing and applying this excellent product, so that it can be quickly adopted in production environments.
