GBASE's core business system solution was selected by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology as a “2022 Typical Solution for IT Application Innovation”

Published on 2023-05-10

Recently, the 6th Digital China Summit, themed “Accelerating the Building of Digital China and Advancing Chinese Modernization,” was held in Fuzhou. As a major highlight of the summit, the 2022 Typical Solutions for IT Application Innovation, led by the Cybersecurity Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (Information Center of MIIT), were officially announced at the seminar on innovative applications of digital technology integration. “GBASE's Localized Solution for Bank Core Accounting Systems” was selected as a “2022 Typical Solution for IT Application Innovation.”

The solicitation for this selection officially began in August 2022, attracting widespread attention and active responses from enterprises and user organizations nationwide. A total of 1,018 valid solutions from 735 entities participated. After stages including solution submission, preliminary qualification review, technical mid-term evaluation & regional review, final defense evaluation, and comprehensive reconsideration, 169 typical solutions, 49 application demonstration cases, and 55 individual innovation cases were selected.

GBASE's Localized Solution for Bank Core Accounting Systems

  • Project Overview

This solution targets online banking transaction scenarios, including the storage of core business data such as customers, deposits, loans, payments, funds, general ledgers, and channels. The original system’s IT chain relied on foreign products, which could not guarantee IT application innovation security. Moreover, as data volume increased, the original database system faced numerous issues and could not meet business requirements. Therefore, leveraging the high-performance domestic transactional database GBase 8s, the solution underwent deep adaptation with Chinese CPUs, operating systems, and middleware to achieve full‑stack localization.

The GBase 8s product used in this project is a mature and stable database cluster that supports shared‑storage clustering and two‑site three‑center deployment, capable of handling hundreds of terabytes in financial‑grade domestic environments. It features Level 4 of China’s Information Security Protection — the highest security level — financial‑grade high availability, a complete domestic ecosystem, support for both Chinese and international standards, ease of use, and low‑cost migration.

  • Solution Details

The solution is divided into a primary data center and a disaster recovery center. The entire solution runs on domestic hardware platforms to reduce costs and meet the localization requirements of financial IT application innovation. The database uses GBase 8s, and the servers, chips, and operating systems are all domestically manufactured, forming a fully localized solution.

The primary data center is deployed as a two‑node shared‑storage SSC cluster. The SSC cluster has built‑in high‑availability components that enable automatic fault detection and failover, ensuring service continuity for core business systems. The SSC standby node can serve external requests, enhancing the overall service capacity of the database system. The enhanced overall service capacity of the SSC cluster eliminates the need for a separate query database in the original architecture, reducing total costs. In the disaster recovery center, a remote HAC standby database is set up and can also provide query functionality.

  • Application Effectiveness

Performance Improvement

  • Fixed existing database backup issues

Database backups now run normally without the need for periodic restarts, and the backup time has been reduced several‑fold.

  • Capability Enhancement

While reducing overall costs, the upgrade clearly improved high availability.

  • Business Efficiency

Since the new system went live, the GBase 8s database has been running stably, and the average response time for business transactions has been greatly shortened.

  • Configuration Optimization

Optimizations such as table lock granularity, indexes, and configuration parameters have increased the number of concurrent online connections and concurrent processing performance.

Functional Improvement

  • Separation of Application and Database

The application and database have been separated onto different servers to accommodate anticipated business growth pressure.

  • Management Upgrade

Customer, deposit, loan, payment, fund, general ledger, and channel data are processed, fully supporting core operations such as internal accounting, payment and settlement, and central bank regulatory reporting.

  • Strong Service Support

GBASE provided full on‑site technical support throughout the upgrade process and continues to offer robust follow‑up technical services.

This selection as a “2022 Typical Solution for IT Application Innovation” is a dual recognition of GBASE's technological innovation capabilities and industry application value. Going forward, GBASE will continue to leverage its independent database R&D strengths, deep industry understanding, and engineering experience to further integrate and innovate database solutions with business scenarios, deeply empowering users’ IT application innovation and the transformation and upgrade of core business systems.
