Wu Gang pointed out that from the perspective of the global economic landscape, the Global South countries, with their large populations, vast territories, and abundant resources, are gradually becoming an important force shaping the international economic order in the process of global multipolar development. Financial cooperation can help these countries enhance their economic autonomy, reduce dependence on developed nations, better manage financial risks, and inject new momentum into global economic stability and sustainable development.
The Global South holds immense potential in financial cooperation. Wu Gang noted that in terms of payment systems, promoting payments in RMB and other currencies as well as digital currencies can make settlements more diverse, convenient, and autonomous. In infrastructure, cooperation among Global South countries to build and upgrade digital financial infrastructure can achieve complementary advantages and meet the needs of inclusive finance and financial security. Moreover, drawing on China's Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to attract private capital into infrastructure development in Global South countries will greatly promote local development.
Driven by technological innovation and institutional innovation, the globalization of digital finance has become a trend. On the technology front, advances in artificial intelligence, AI and other new technology fields are reshaping the underlying logic of financial infrastructure. Wu Gang stated that China's industrial manufacturing capabilities and digital economy infrastructure construction are now at the forefront globally, and the country has accumulated extensive experience in digital transformation and application popularization in underdeveloped regions.
