Intellectual Property Drives Technology Commercialization – "Chongguang Tianjin · GBase" IP Seminar Held Successfully
Intellectual property is a core competitive advantage for technology innovators. In recent years, with the rise of big data, AI, and other cutting-edge technologies, the importance of technological innovation and IP protection in the database sector—critical infrastructure for information systems—has become increasingly prominent.
GBase actively supports China's national strategy to build an IP powerhouse, strengthening its role as an innovation leader and continuously enhancing IP management to drive development through technological innovation.
Recently, GBase and Beijing Chongguang (Tianjin) Law Firm co-hosted the "Chongguang Tianjin · GBase" IP Seminar. Huayafei, Partner and Director of the IP Committee at Beijing Chongguang (Tianjin) Law Firm, led a delegation including Wangshan, General Manager of Tianjin Shangyi IP Agency, to GBase's Tianjin headquarters. The two sides held in-depth discussions on patent filing, IP portfolio strategy, application enforcement, and related topics, exploring actionable pathways to empower corporate innovation through IP.
The discussion centered on four key areas: the protection of corporate IP and trade secrets, legal risks related to IP in daily business operations, key challenges in patent strategy development and application processes, and approaches for building an IP compliance management framework.
As a leading Chinese database provider, GBase has independently developed core database technologies for over two decades. The company places a high priority on IP protection and management, establishing a full lifecycle management system from R&D to commercialization, and has achieved significant results.
As of the end of April 2025, GBase has filed over 400 patent applications, including more than 230 granted invention patents, holds 120+ software copyrights, and has contributed to the development of more than 10 national database standards.
Looking ahead, GBase will continue to advance core technology research in the database sector, further innovate its IP management practices, enhance the efficiency of technology commercialization, and provide a solid foundation to support the integrated development of enterprise digital transformation and IT application innovation.
