Published on 2025-05-16

From May 15 to 16, the 2025 China Petroleum & Petrochemical Enterprise Information Technology Conference and Oil & Gas Industry New Quality Productive Forces Summit, themed “Digital Intelligence Empowering New Quality Productive Forces in Petroleum and Petrochemical Industry”, was held in Beijing. GBase was invited to this conference and showcased the innovative applications and systematic solutions of the GBase database in the petroleum and petrochemical industry.

As an annual event in China’s petroleum and petrochemical IT field, the China Petroleum & Petrochemical Enterprise Information Technology Conference has been successfully held for more than ten sessions, playing an important role in implementing digital transformation strategies and deepening exchanges and cooperation in the oil and gas industry.

The conference was co-organized by the China Petroleum Society, CNPC, Sinopec, CNOOC, PipeChina, National Energy Group, Sinochem, CNAF, Yanchang Petroleum, and the Oil and Gas Survey Center of China Geological Survey. Over 3,600 representatives from relevant national ministries, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as from domestic and international energy industries, petroleum and petrochemical enterprises, universities, and research institutes attended the event. They conducted in-depth discussions and extensive exchanges on topics such as digital-intelligence technologies driving scientific innovation and green low-carbon transformation in the oil and gas sector, development trends and application scenarios of digital-intelligence technologies, latest achievements in digital transformation, deployment of large AI models, and self-reliance and controllability of core technologies.

The petroleum and petrochemical industry is a crucial pillar for ensuring national energy security. As digitalization deepens, achieving independent innovation in core technologies and building a secure and controllable supply chain has become the essential path to high-quality digital transformation. In this digital revolution, the GBase database, with its enterprise-grade characteristics of high performance, high reliability, high security, and easy scalability, provides a solid foundation for the integrated development of digital intelligence transformation and IT application innovation in the petroleum and petrochemical industry.

At the digital achievements exhibition area, GBase showcased its full-stack data products and scenario-based solutions for the petroleum and petrochemical industry, engaging with guests on new technologies and outcomes, and sharing innovative applications of the GBase database at multiple leading petroleum and petrochemical enterprises.

In the oil and gas sector, the GBase database supports the localization of the SCADA system for oil and gas pipelines of PipeChina, providing solid support for data acquisition and monitoring at large control centers. It has been deployed in 15 business information systems of PipeChina’s production and management, with over 1,000 database instances (Learn more). During the construction of Sinopec’s intelligent oilfield cloud platform, GBase databases—including centralized transactional, distributed analytical, and data lake products—were deployed to achieve unified management and access to six major data categories, promoting resource aggregation, data sharing, and collaborative innovation.

Furthermore, the GBase database supports informatization in multiple business areas such as operations management, oil and gas exploration, refining and chemicals, and product sales, delivering stable and secure database products and technical services throughout the entire production and operation process.

Looking ahead, GBase will leverage its self-controllable, secure, and reliable domestic database products to strengthen the digital-intelligence foundation of petroleum and petrochemical enterprises. We will continue to explore the path of industry digitalization, adding “data” to drive “efficiency” in cultivating and developing new quality productive forces for the oil and gas sector.
