Unifying Industrial Connectivity with Full-Domain Database Capabilities — GBASE at the 2026 Global Industrial Internet Conference

Published on 2026-09-09

On September 8, 2026, as one of the key parallel forums at the 2026 Global Industrial Internet Conference, the "Search · Applaud · Tell China's Industrial Story" forum was held in Shenyang, hosted by China Search. Mr. Zhao Bo, Technical Director at GBASE (General Data Technology Co., Ltd.), was invited to speak, sharing insights on GBase database practices in building industrial internet foundations and fostering IT application innovation ecosystem collaboration.

The forum brought together representatives from government, industry, academia, research, and end-user organizations, focusing on three core topics: industrial internet infrastructure, IT application innovation ecosystem collaboration, and enterprise brand rebuilding and communication. Industry experts, executives from manufacturing and foundational software companies, and media representatives engaged in in-depth discussions on industrial system evolution, supply chain ecosystem co-development, industrial value discovery, and storytelling — creating a collaborative platform for ecosystem synergy, experience sharing, and brand communication.

At the forum, Mr. Zhao Bo delivered a keynote titled "Empowering Intelligent Transformation with an Autonomous Data Foundation: Unifying Industrial Connectivity with Full-Domain Database Capabilities."

He noted that industrial software has evolved over four decades and is now entering an intelligence-driven era built on large language models and knowledge graphs. The greatest bottleneck to AI adoption in industrial scenarios is not that LLMs are insufficiently capable, but rather that operational data, engineering data, and process/compliance systems cannot be unified due to severe data silos. Therefore, data management capabilities that make data "understandable to AI" are the key to winning at industrial upgrading.

Addressing the AI era, Mr. Zhao outlined three fundamental transformations databases are undergoing:

Multi-Model Integration — A unified storage engine delivers "one copy of data, multiple access methods," eliminating data silos.

Natural Language Interaction — NL2SQL and AI agents lower the barrier to database usage.

AI-Powered Autonomous Operations — Databases gain self-perceiving, self-diagnosing, self-optimizing, and self-healing "autonomous driving" capabilities.

Built around the core philosophy of "Intelligent Kernel + Intelligent Operations + Intelligent Interaction," GBase database delivers a full-stack database architecture that drives industrial data warehouses to evolve from "reporting repositories" into "contextual layers for AI inference."

Bringing this vision to life requires long-term technology investment and industry practice. As a leading representative of China's foundational software sector, GBASE has long focused on independent R&D of core technologies and is one of the first national-level "Specialized, Refined, Differentiated, and Innovative" (SRDI) enterprises. For over a decade, GBase database has consistently ranked first in China's domestic analytical database market share, serving more than 2,000 customers, with over 100,000 deployed nodes and more than 500 PB of data under management. Its products reach over 50 countries worldwide.

In terms of real-world deployments, GBase database powers the State Grid's "Online State Grid" platform, the national pipeline network's core SCADA system, an oil company's intelligent cloud data lakehouse, and nearly 100 subway lines across more than 30 cities including Shenzhen, Shenyang, and Dalian — providing a robust data foundation for real-time production data analytics, equipment failure prediction, and business decision support.

High-quality development of the industrial internet depends on solid foundational software. Looking ahead, GBASE will continue to invest deeply in frontier areas including industrial time-series data processing and AI-native databases, driven by independent innovation, to help organizations across industries strengthen their data foundations and contribute database strength to the advancement of new industrialization and China's digital economy.
