On June 29, GBASE and Huawei Storage jointly launched the “Financial Core-Grade Database High Availability Solution.” Built on a disaggregated compute and storage architecture with shared storage, the solution combines Huawei OceanStor all-flash storage with GBASE’s shared-storage database cluster GBase 8s. It delivers the high performance and high availability required by financial core systems, accelerating the technology transformation of critical infrastructure in financial services, telecom, and other key industries.

Gu Xuejun, Vice President of Huawei Data Storage Product Line, delivered a speech at the event. He noted that databases, as core enterprise applications, are the foundation for the digital economy. The financial industry has always been at the forefront of digital transformation. Both traditional core banking and new internet-based financial services demand ever-higher database efficiency and stability. The joint innovation between Huawei Storage and GBASE can already meet these demands for reliability, performance, and energy efficiency in the upgrade of core financial systems, helping to expedite enterprise-level database modernization.

Based on a disaggregated compute and storage architecture with shared storage, the solution deeply integrates GBASE’s advanced database cluster technology with the globally leading high-availability and high-performance capabilities of Huawei OceanStor all-flash storage, creating a database high-availability solution that meets the demands of financial core-grade systems.

The joint innovation solution from GBASE and Huawei has already been deployed and is running stably in the core business system of a city commercial bank in Southwest China. Looking ahead, both parties will deepen their cooperation, driving continuous innovation in areas such as the deep integration of HAC and storage active-active technologies, and enabling multi-read and multi-write database capabilities based on the Cantian engine. The goal is to deliver core database solutions with even better performance and reliability, accelerating the resilience upgrade of China's critical information infrastructure.
