Hushang Rural Bank Independently Developed Database Project
Project Overview
In response to the national initiative to replace foreign IT systems with homegrown alternatives and to address the pressing need for system upgrades driven by rapid business expansion and surging data volumes, Hushang Rural Commercial Bank launched a project to migrate to a domestic database.
Solutions
The project procured GBase 8s transactional database to support the bank's transaction processing systems. GBase 8s is SQL99/2003 standards-compliant, supports standard development interfaces such as JDBC, ODBC, and .NET, and accommodates multiple common character sets including GB18030. Additionally, GBase 8s provides a suite of management tools that support graphical installation, management, and development. A browser-based database monitoring tool is also included for real-time tracking of database status, resource consumption, and health checks.

High Security: GBase 8s supports identity authentication, encrypted data storage, discretionary access control (DAC), security labeling, mandatory access control (MAC), data integrity protection, security auditing, and separation of administrative duties (system, security, and audit administrators).
Comprehensive Domestic Ecosystem: GBase 8s has been deeply adapted to all major domestic platforms, supporting CPUs including Kunpeng, Phytium, Loongson, Sunway, Zhaoxin, and Hygon, as well as operating systems such as Kylin, UnionTech UOS, Inspur K-UX, Fangde OS, Puhua, Ningsi Panshi, and Wanlihong.
Concurrency Control: GBase 8s uses locking mechanisms and isolation levels to manage transaction concurrency. Locks are applied to database objects during modifications to prevent concurrent changes and ensure data consistency, and are released upon transaction commit or rollback.
