GBASE Supports HuaAn Securities in Building an Independently Developed Database CloudNew Out-of-Band Management Platform

Project Overview

Huaan Securities, headquartered in Anhui, operates a business network spanning over twenty provinces across China, with 151 securities branches and 13 futures branches. To achieve unified device management across different vendors, hardware platforms, and locations, Huaan Securities deployed a centralized data center infrastructure management platform — the CloudX Out-of-Band (OOB) Platform.

As the business expanded, the original system of the CloudX OOB Platform encountered concurrency bottlenecks and slower response times. At the end of 2023, the existing domestic M database was replaced with the GBase 8c distributed database solution from General Data Technology. This migration enhanced database concurrency and response capabilities, while also delivering enterprise-grade features such as seamless upgrades and online scaling, providing ample room for future management growth.

Implementation Plan

Based on the requirements for a fully localized IT infrastructure, this project utilizes an entirely indigenous hardware and software stack, including Huawei Kunpeng servers, the KylinOS Advanced Server operating system, and a GBase 8c V5 distributed cluster.

The deployment is built on three physical servers, each running KylinOS V10 ARM (64 cores, 128 GB RAM, dual Gigabit NICs), to host a three-node GBase 8c cluster. We designed a high-availability solution with three Coordinator (CN) nodes and three high-availability groups. The system accesses the cluster through the CN nodes, and all three servers support read/write operations. Each server and each high-availability group contains one primary and one standby node, deployed in a cross arrangement. If any server fails, a standby node on another server can be promoted to primary within one minute. The failover is completely transparent to the application, resulting in minimal service interruption, zero data loss, and a seamless user experience. The architecture also delivers load balancing and read-write separation, boosting concurrent data access while ensuring high availability.

DMT (Data Migration Tool) was used for one-click full data migration. After functional verification, we simulated the maximum expected concurrent load using JMeter and ran a continuous three-day stress test to confirm that performance met business requirements. Core data was then migrated via DMT, and the business went live smoothly. We also configured scheduled backup tasks for the database, applied on-site security parameters according to the customer’s requirements, delivered a parameter configuration plan, and set up regular inspection scripts to periodically check the production environment, ensuring the customer’s business operations remain stable and uninterrupted.

Application Results and Value

Huaan Securities replaced and upgraded its database with GBase. GBase database provides high concurrency, high scalability, and distributed transaction processing, effectively enhancing system security, performance, compliance, and scalability. It delivers robust technical support for the firm’s business innovation and sustainable growth, while improving customer service quality and strengthening market competitiveness.

In an actual business model test of the built out-of-band management platform, the metric count for 2,000 devices is approximately 320,000. The monitoring data collection performed actual database operations by sending 5 requests to the database each time (each request containing 300 update/insert operations). A domestic database product (referred to as “M”) crashed under the 2,000-device scenario, whereas the GBase 8c distributed database deployed with the above scheme can support stable operation of 4,000 devices.
