On January 13, 2020, Chen Fengmin, Honorary Chairwoman of the Automatic Fare Collection System Committee of the China Information Industry Association (hereinafter "AFC Committee"), and her delegation visited GBase and presented books to encourage the GBase domestic database to make greater contributions to AFC systems. They were received by GBase General Manager Yu Changpu and other company leaders. During the exchange, both sides had an in-depth discussion on the current application status, value contributions, and future development needs of domestic databases in AFC systems, sparking many excellent ideas.

Ms. Chen Fengmin and other experts listened to GBase's achievements in the database field. While introducing the development of AFC, she pointed out that the hardware system construction for AFC in China has largely been completed, and the next crucial step is to leverage data in operations. She expressed hope that GBase can help the AFC sector manage, utilize, and protect this valuable data, enabling deep operations and making even greater contributions to the development of China's smart metro.

The accompanying AFC Committee experts, including specialists from design institutes, metro operating companies, and system integrators, also offered valuable suggestions based on the strengths and weaknesses of domestic databases. They expressed the hope that GBase's high-performance solution for the 12306 system and its geo-redundant active-active disaster recovery solution for the State Grid could be applied to AFC systems, addressing the needs for high-frequency real-time transactions and data security in AFC systems.

Guided by the philosophy of being "a trusted data management expert", GBase has developed the Chinese-developed secure transactional database management system GBase 8s, which has been widely adopted in transportation, government, financial and other industries thanks to its "high performance, high availability, and high security". In early January 2020, GBase won an award in the "AFC Special Competition of the First Information System Compatibility and Innovation Application Contest" for "Replacement and Application of Domestic Databases in Metro AFC Systems".
