Empowering Smart Rail Transit: GBase Debuts at the 17th AFC Application Seminar
December 10-11, 2020, the 17th Urban Rail Transit AFC System Technology Application Seminar and AFC Professional Product Exhibition, themed “Exploring the Development Direction of the AFC Industry under the 14th Five-Year Plan,” was held in Beijing. The event was hosted by the Automatic Fare Collection System Committee of the China Information Industry Association and AFC Forum Network. GBase was invited to attend the conference and discuss with experts and delegates the development trends and technical implementation of smart urban rail transit in the era of big data.
In recent years, China has been in an era of rapid urban rail transit development, and the burgeoning new infrastructure construction is focusing on intercity high-speed railways and urban rail transit. Currently, 40 cities in mainland China have urban rail transit operations, with a total of 208 operating lines and a combined length of 6,736.2 kilometers. Additionally, 65 cities are conducting preliminary work such as planning, design, and related survey and consulting for urban rail transit. With the ever-increasing demand for rail transit construction and the widespread adoption of smart mobility, higher requirements are being placed on the integration of new technologies.
Various payment methods such as QR codes, all-purpose cards, and NFC make urban rail transit more convenient. However, alongside the bustling crowds, the real-time, rapidly growing massive data has become an urgent challenge for the rail transit industry to improve services and operational development. During the construction of urban rail transit, areas such as the automatic fare collection system, integrated monitoring system, clearing and settlement system, line network command center, signaling system, and rail transit big data platform all require the analysis, sharing, and mining of real-time massive data.
GBase has been providing informatization services to the urban rail transit industry for many years. Its self-developed GBase 8a, GBase 8s, and GBase UP databases can effectively address functions such as massive data analysis, mining, and real-time processing for urban rail transit. Since December 2017, dozens of metro lines have adopted GBase series databases in areas such as automatic fare collection and integrated monitoring systems.
