On December 3, the results of the 13th batch of database product capability evaluations by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) were announced. GBase 8c, a distributed transactional database from General Data Technology, excelled in performance and high availability, successfully passing the evaluation with outstanding results. It will receive the certificate at the “2021 Data Asset Management Conference” hosted by CAICT on December 20. This not only represents authoritative recognition of GBase 8c's product performance, but also marks another milestone in General Data Technology's database innovation journey.

To date, within CAICT's database evaluation system, GBase 8c has successfully passed two specialized database evaluations: basic capabilities and performance for distributed transactional databases.

CAICT's “Big Data Product Evaluation” has become a benchmark for vendor product development and user procurement decision-making, thanks to its authoritative big data and database evaluation system. The evaluation committee includes experts from China Mobile, Bank of Communications, China Everbright Bank, Huaxia Bank, and Orient Securities, among others. The evaluation process consists of five stages: product documentation review, test report review, vendor presentation and defense, Q&A and discussion, and final deliberation.

In terms of performance testing, CAICT's Cloud Computing and Big Data Research Institute has independently developed several performance testing tools and adapted them to mainstream products in the industry. Compared with foreign benchmarks such as the TPC series, these tools are more closely aligned with real-world application scenarios in China. Tests are conducted in a graphical and automated manner on a unified hardware environment provided by CAICT, ensuring a fair, objective, and truthful reflection of the differences between database products.

As a distributed transactional database, GBase 8c features high performance, high availability, elastic scalability, and robust security. It can be deployed on physical machines, virtual machines, containers, private clouds, and public clouds, delivering secure, stable, and reliable data storage and management services for financial core systems, internet business systems, and government/enterprise systems.

As top-level design for databases in China continues to strengthen, key technologies make breakthroughs, and the industrial ecosystem flourishes. As an outstanding representative of China's first-tier database vendors, General Data Technology will remain focused on R&D and innovation in areas such as agile business requirement response, adaptation to the domestic ecosystem, enhanced high availability, and reduced IT costs. The company will continue to drive the advancement of China's database technology and provide strong foundational support for a data-empowered nation.
