GBase (General Data Technology) becomes one of the first database product and service providers to achieve OpenChain conformance.

On February 17, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) held the launch and seminar of open-source governance compliance inspection products at its multi-functional hall. At the event, GBase 8a, the massively distributed parallel database cluster system from General Data Technology, passed the inspection, met the compliance requirements in open-source governance, and became one of the first database products to achieve OpenChain conformance, receiving a verification certificate.
 

Open source, as the core driving force of IT industry development, has penetrated various industry sectors, and open-source compliance issues have drawn great attention from all industries and supply chain links. As the first third-party assessment organization for the OpenChain project under the Linux Foundation in China, CAICT, through its work on OpenChain compliance processes, makes open-source license compliance more predictable, understandable, and efficient for all participants in the software supply chain.

During the meeting, Hu Jianbo, Vice President of CAICT, congratulated the first three products that passed the inspection and stated that in future work, he would collaborate with industry peers to carry out open-source compliance research and investigations, pool efforts to continuously improve China's open-source compliance governance capabilities, uphold the concept of openness and cooperation, build an open-source ecosystem, and accelerate the formation of new advantages for software industry development in the digital era.

Liu Yingjie, Senior Vice President of General Data Technology, stated at the meeting that the OpenChain specification, based on the ISO/IEC 5230 standard, defines key requirements for a high-quality open-source license compliance program. This benchmark specification aligns with the company's need for compliant use of open-source technologies and will help General Data Technology establish unified benchmarks and build trust with various organizations when incorporating open-source software into product development.
