GBASE supports Nanyang Commercial Bank (China) in building a "Unified Regulatory Reporting Platform".

Nanyang Commercial Bank (China) Limited

Nanyang Commercial Bank (China) Limited ("NCB China") is a wholly foreign-owned commercial bank in mainland China, wholly held by China Cinda Asset Management Co., Ltd. through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Nanyang Commercial Bank, and headquartered in Shanghai. Focusing on cross-border finance and asset management, the bank is a key part of China Cinda Group's integrated cross-border financial services offering. In 2019, its independently developed next-generation IT system went live, enabling sales support across its full product line and earning the UnionPay International Card Issuing Innovation Award that same year. Its recently launched "1+N" supply chain financing system was selected as a Shanghai Banking Industry Digital Finance Excellent Case.

Project Requirements

With rapid business growth in recent years, Nanyang Commercial Bank (China) faced challenges such as fragmented and difficult-to-manage data, high security risks in multi-step data interaction, and low efficiency in regulatory data processing. The legacy business system was under increasing pressure, necessitating a new system built on a modern technology architecture to meet business and regulatory reporting requirements.

Solutions

Nanyang Commercial Bank (China) built a unified regulatory reporting platform on GBase 8a database.

  • Data architecture restructuring: standardized layered modeling and logical validation, delivering regulatory base tables and risk indicator sets;

  • Penetrative supervision: bi-directional data lineage mapping and dynamic metadata management, ensuring rules are strongly aligned with regulatory requirements;

  • Unified reporting hub: standardized processing logic and multi-regulatory interface integration, aligning institution-wide data standards and reporting specifications.

Project Achievements

NCB China built a Unified Regulatory Data Mart and Trusted Zone Submission Platform based on the GBase database, creating a unified, cross-system and cross-regulatory data capability domain. This enabled the bank to advance from fragmented data management to integrated data governance, fulfilling the data security and efficiency requirements of industry regulators.
