Ocean Economy Database System Architecture:
1. Gateway Interface
Provides external data services, handling request validation and authentication.
2. Data Service Layer
Data Parsing Layer: Adapts to various file formats from different data sources, dissects data based on core elements, and persists them into the database.
Data Processing Layer: Validates, audits, and recomputes the parsed raw data.
Data Production Layer: Generates finished data products such as reports and summaries, and saves results into the Integrated Application Database.
3. Data Storage Layer
Metadata Database (GBase 8s): Stores core element data.
Business Support Database (GBase 8s): Stores business support data.
Professional Raw Database (GBase 8s): Stores original input data.
Professional Working Database (GBase 8s): Stores data dissected by elements, with table partitioning based on categories or time periods.
Integrated Application Database (GBase 8s): Stores finished data products such as reports and data delivered to third parties.
Project Overview
The National Marine Economy Database, with data collection, management, planning and assessment as its core functions, aggregates and integrates marine economic data resources under unified data standards, enabling sharing and application to provide marine economic information services to relevant departments.
The project adopts a new data resource management model and a flexible data architecture to conduct unified collection, centralized management, and maintenance of various marine economic data. It has initially resolved issues such as the wide time span of marine economic records, diverse storage media, and non-uniform file formats, thereby achieving integrated management and maintenance of marine economic data and supporting the usage demands of different departments for these data resources.
Features & Services
The system is built upon data indicators, reporting periods, and survey objects. It features functional modules including an indicator system, reporting period module, and multi-dimensional survey objects, tailored to various data ingestion requirements. To accommodate different data source channels, the system provides ingestion adapters for reports, Excel spreadsheets, Access files, JSON, and XML files, which decompose and adapt the data according to these three elements to meet ingestion standards. To make data easier to view and compare, the system outputs data in multiple file formats—such as directly generating Excel tables from reports. Furthermore, a query tree is constructed by business area and data source, guiding users layer by layer to the required indicator data and displaying it with a range of chart types.
The system offers flexible indicator querying. It can also introduce query topics based on external system requirements, grouping specific indicators by topic so that callers can simply retrieve the relevant indicator data by topic.
