Clearing House Independent Production System Independently Developed Database Upgrade Project

Project Background

Shanghai Clearing House (SHCH), a key national financial infrastructure supervised by the People's Bank of China, is the only central counterparty clearing institution in China's interbank market, the first qualified central counterparty recognized by regulators in China, and one of the three major bond issuance, registration, and depository institutions in China. In response to China's national initiative to replace foreign software with domestic alternatives, SHCH carried out a database replacement project for its independent production system, migrating the original Oracle database to a domestic database.

Solutions

The standalone production system leverages the GBase 8s HAC disaster recovery cluster, successfully deployed in an all-Chinese software and hardware environment. The HAC cluster’s primary node handles read/write operations while the standby node takes on read workloads such as queries and reports. If the primary node fails, the standby seamlessly takes over in seconds—completely transparent to applications—with minimal downtime, zero data loss, and a smooth user experience.

Application Results
